1. Information We Collect

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

A. Personal Data (Voluntary)

While using our App, you may provide us with certain information implicitly or explicitly:

  • User Inputs: When you use the "Intention" feature or the "Chat" interface, you type questions or text (e.g., "What does this card mean for my career?"). This text is transmitted to our backend and third-party AI providers to generate a response.

  • Account Data: If you use "Anonymous Sign-in," we assign a unique identifier to your device to save your reading history locally or on our servers. We do not link this to your name or email address unless you explicitly link a social account later.

B. Usage Data (Automatic)

We may also collect information that your device sends whenever you use the App. This may include:

  • Device type and model.

  • Operating system version.

  • Time and date of your use of the App.

  • Diagnostic data (crash logs) via services like Firebase Crashlytics.

C. Payment Data

We do not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors (Apple App Store and Google Play Store) whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy.

  • We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user-ID to verify if you have an active subscription.

2. How We Use Your Information

Arcana AI uses the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide the Service: Specifically, to generate Tarot readings and interpretations based on your inputs.

  • To maintain the App: To monitor usage and detect technical issues.

  • To process AI Responses: Your text input ("What do you seek?") is sent to our Cloud Functions and then to the Google Gemini API to generate the interpretation.

  • To manage subscriptions: To verify if you have access to Premium features.

3. Third-Party Services and AI

We employ third-party companies and services to facilitate our App ("Service Providers"). These third parties have access to your data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

A. Artificial Intelligence (Google Gemini)

We use Google's Gemini API to generate the text interpretations for your Tarot readings.

  • Data Shared: The specific text question you ask and the names of the cards you drew.

  • Purpose: To generate the text response displayed in the app.

  • Privacy: Google states they do not use API data to train their models (for paid/enterprise tiers), but you should assume that data sent to any AI is processed by their servers. Do not submit sensitive personal information (like full names, financial data, or health secrets) in your reading questions.

B. Firebase (Google)

We use Firebase for backend services, authentication, analytics, and crash reporting.

C. RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to handle subscription infrastructure.

4. Data Retention

We will retain your data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

  • Reading History: Stored in the database associated with your anonymous ID until you delete the App or request deletion.

  • Inputs sent to AI: We do not permanently store the full text of your chats on our servers for longer than necessary to deliver the response and maintain history for your session.

5. Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children have provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
